Recently, the 26th stop of the "Silk Road Journey of Light" cataract restoration public welfare initiative concluded successfully in Moyu, Xinjiang. The event aimed to help local cataract patients regain their sight and enhance the technical capabilities of local ophthalmology medical teams. The year 2025 marks a significant milestone for the "Silk Road Journey of Light" cataract restoration public welfare initiative, also known as the "Charity Journey of Light" or "Journey of Light," which embodies the spirit of 20 years of charitable efforts. This initiative's 26th stop took place in Moyu, Xinjiang, led by Professor Zhao Peiquan from the Eye Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center at Xinhua Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. A total of 1,035 eye disease patients received eye screenings and consultations, while 100 cataract restoration surgeries were performed free of charge, and 40 medical workers were trained.

A girl named Guli, who suffers from congenital cataracts, underwent surgery on her right eye during the "Journey of Light" event in Moyu County on October 24, performed by Professor Zhao Peiquan. During the procedure, a Proming high-order aspheric intraocular lens was implanted, improving her right eye vision from 0.03 pre-surgery to 0.6 post-surgery. During her follow-up examination, she joyfully informed the medical staff around her, "I can see the whole world now." This surgery marks the beginning of her journey to clearly see the world and has brightened her future.

The "Journey of Light" is also a journey of hope.
